| In 3John, the apostle John is expressing his greatest joy, which is to see all his spiritual children walking in The Truth. The world can never define truth. The Roman Governor, Pilate, for instance, asked: "What is Truth?" Truth can not be defined by facts alone and it certainly can not be defined outside of God, Hs redemption plan and His grace and mercy towards us, because the Bible calls Jesus: The Truth (John 14:6). This truth operates alongside The Way (God's purposes and intentions) and The Life (God's essense and being). Also, according to John 1:14-15, the Word of God (Jesus) is full of grace and truth, grace being God's influence upon the heart of men and it's reflection in their life. "And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me." |
