Is Jesus God the Father?

Is Jesus God the Father?

There are numerous Bible Scriptures and Passages, which connect Jesus to God the Father.

Of course, there are still many people which are asking the question: "Is Jesus God"?, much less is He the Father. Well, for the answer to the first question, please visit the Is Jesus God page. As to the second question, here are some starters:

"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.

Philip saith unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and it sufficeth us. Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father? Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father." (John 14:6-12)

Actually, the Gospel of John has much to say in this direction, proving without a doubt that Jesus and the Father are closely related. Virtually, the whole Gospel seems to point to that idea. The Jews even sought to kill Jesus exactly because of His claims to be so close to the Father: "Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God." (John 5:18).

Well, Is Jesus God the Father?

People who know about the unity of the Godhead will say: "Of course! Jesus and the Father are One in Unity". Hey, human mind can not so easily fragment and understand God. Yes, Jesus said in many places that He and the Father are united as One, and all Christians believe that 100%, but He also said in one place: "Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am. (Which of course is the name God the Father identifies with)" (John 8:58)

Well, those were Jesus' own words. let's see what the Father has to say about Jesus:

"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace." (Isaiah 9:6)

A similar research on the Holy Spirit will produce the same results - The Holy Spirit is God and He is also the Father. So, the Oneness of the Godhead is a mystery beyond human perception. It is One God we are serving, He does have three ways He expresses Himself in the context of Redemption and He does appear as three Persons (Father, Son, Holy Spirit), and yet, He is One in unity and One in composure - something we are yet to fathom.

So, is Jesus God the Father? YES! How come? We have Eternity to find out!

May God Bless You!
