14th week - Passion of Jesus - CHRONIC HUNGER! Life is not measured by the number of breathings that we breathe, but by the number of moments that take our breath away.
“But if from thence thou shalt seek the LORD thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul.” Deuteronomy 4:29 (KJV)
Jesus said that the hungry and thirsty will be the ones that get filled (satisfied to the full). Hunger is the spiritual sign that a person is walking with God progressively. The hungry ones have always found God.
Moses was hungry and the Lord talked to him face to face and let him live in His Glory. Joshua was so hungry that when Moses was leaving the Tabernacle after a whole day of service to the Lord and the people, Joshua continued there. The result is that the Lord would even stop the sun for him, in order that he succeeds in doing God’s will. David was so hungry, that he likened himself to a deer that pants for the waters. The one thing that he wanted in his life was to live in the house of the Lord all the days of his life. He was a man after God’s own heart.
There are so many more to mention, like Enoch, Ezekiel, Daniel, and the apostles, who couldn’t live one second without His Presence.
There is a spiritual condition , that I like to call: “Chronic spiritual hunger”. That’s the state we must all reach – always be more and more hungry and hungry for more and more. Then and then only the Lord will satisfy us fully.
