How Great Thou Art

My Lord How Great Thou Art

There were times I asked

Where are You God?

Throughout my childhood

My adolescence

And adulthood

You have known my pain

You have seen me cry bitterly

You have seen me suffer tremendously

Yet for all I have gone through

I have finally realized

You have never abandoned me

For if it was so

I would be far-gone

In my days of hunger

You have fed me

In my penniless days

You have provided with abundance

In my days of despair

You have brought me much comfort

Yet Dear Lord

I have doubted You

I denied You

I pushed away Your love

How ungrateful can I be?

My Lord and My God

Please never forsake me

I am totally lost without You

Help me fight this fight

Give me a strong will to live

For it is no longer for me

But my will to live is now for You

For I am burdened by my sins

I grieve in silence

Waiting for the day

When I can hear

You call out my name

I yearn to feel

What it’s like

To be in Your Divine Presence

Your love and warmth

Give me a heart

One that will love

Teach me how to live

How to hope

And most of all

How to serve You

With all my heart

Mind, body, and soul.
