Is Jesus Real – 5-fold Prayer Devotional I
45th week: Is Jesus Real! The “Five-fold Prayer” series, Part I
“…That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, And what is the exceeding greatness of His power to us-ward who believe…” Ephesians 1:17-19 (KJV)
I believe every prayer that comes out of our heart, inspired by the Holy Spirit, is a powerful weapon in God’s hands, for accomplishing His will on this earth, and for driving out the forces of darkness. So, let me share briefly about 5 specific prayer directions the Lord has led me to pray, on a continual basis, because I believe they are indeed foundational for our daily walk with the Lord. I have named this series of five Devotionals: The “Five-fold Prayer” series.
The first prayer is connected with God’s Reality in us. If we are ever going to do anything real for the Lord, this area is of utmost significance. If you look through the Bible, the people that did exploits for the Lord were the people that had the Lord’s reality in their life. Moses, Joshua, David, Elijah, Elisha, Jesus and the apostles are just several examples. I believe Jesus set the foundation for this area when He said: “Verily, verily, I say unto you, Hereafter ye shall see Heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man” (John 1:51).
The phrase: “The Son of man” (speaking of human kind) means this is available for us – the sons and daughters of man. So, Heaven being opened, our eyes, ears and heart being open, visions, dreams, and revelations being real, angelic visitations and even the Lord Himself appearing to us, are not only realities that are good and authentic, but also ones that the Lord wants us to have. Well, let us start praying prayers like: “Lord, please open our eyes, ears and heart. Let us know Your reality. Let us walk in Your supernatural power and glory. Let us be filled with Your Spirit to such an extent, that we completely fulfill Your purposes and intentions on this earth! Amen!”
