Jesus in Ecclesiastes

We can see Jesus in Ecclesiastes along the same lines as Jesus in Proverbs. Both books were written by King Solomon and both focus on the wisdom of God.

Ecclesiastes specifically expounds on the spiritual and natural applications of wisdom, so we can see Jesus everywhere in this book.

Interesting parallels here can be found in Ecclesiastes 1:1 “The words of the Preacher, the son of David, king in Jerusalem.”. In this verse, Solomon is being defined as:

• King

• In Jerusalem

• Preacher

• Son of David

Well, Jesus is called: “The Son of David” in Matthew 1:1. He was the Greatest Preacher and Teacher there is, and He started His preaching in Jerusalem (Luke 4:18-20). And of course, He is the King of kings and the Lord of lords.
