Psalms
Jesus in Psalms
Psalms is such a vast and varied collection of revelations about the Lord, that I certainly don’t think we can even list all the pictures of Jesus in this book.
The 23rd chapter for example specifically speaks about the Lord as being our Shepherd, but we can see the Lord everywhere else in this book as the King of kings, Lord of lords, the Rock, the Shelter, the Savior, the Messiah, the Rod and Staff of God, and so much more.
One thing I would especially like to turn our attention to, which is also the purpose and meaning of the whole book, is that we are to always Praise, Worship, Magnify, Glorify and Lift up His name, with everything we have – in word and deed, with songs and dancing, with loud voices and silent meditations, with heart, soul and strength – e.g. with our whole life. That’s what David did and that’s what we are called to do.
Jesus said to the Pharisees that if the people did not praise Him the rocks would do, and indeed, David, towards the final chapters of his Praise book, challenged not only people, but also the mountains and the seas and the rocks and the islands to praise and worship the Lord. Let us therefore not give in to inanimate things and do our part as we should!
God Bless You!
